HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR HOCKEY STICK & GEAR
Keeping your stick and gear in great condition is essential for performance and longevity. Here are some easy tips to protect your investment — whether you're playing weekly or training daily.
LOOKING AFTER YOUR STICK
- Always use your stick on appropriate playing surfaces
- Avoid striking hard objects (like posts or concrete) which can cause cracks
- Wipe off moisture and dirt after use to prevent wear and splitting
- Check and replace the grip regularly for comfort and control
- Store your stick indoors in a dry place – not in the car or damp garage
GEAR MAINTENANCE
- Air out your shoes, shin guards, and gloves after every session
- Use a ventilated gear bag to reduce odours and moisture build-up
- Hand-wash mouthguards and wipe down helmets or goggles
- Don’t leave sweaty gear in your car or locker overnight
- Check for loose straps or wear-and-tear on protective gear regularly
With just a little care after each training or match, your gear can stay fresh, safe, and ready for action. Treat your equipment well and it’ll perform at its best all season long!
